This function can be used to make a backup copy of current

FDS-CP programming and report files to a floppy disk or to

another directory on the hard drive.
NOTE: Programming and most report files are automati-

cally backed up when a system reset is done. The files are

saved in a folder named \FDSOut. An additional copy of

these files are archived in a dated subfolder of \FDSOut.

q Restaurant operations are shut down on all workstations

for the duration of this procedure.

q The option to make backup copies of the files, and the

file path to which they are made, is set in POS Option

#81, Prompt for Floppy Back Up. When using the

backup feature, the diskette used should initially be a

blank, formatted diskette. After the first backup is written

the new files will automatically overwrite the older file ver-

sions when subsequent backups are done.

1. From the Server Screen, press {MANAGER}.
2. Index Manager Code #, press {ENTER}.
3. Manager Key Menu displays.
4. Press {MANAGEMENT}.
5. Management Menu displays.
6. Press {WRITE~FILES}.
7. Screen prompts:

Do you want to backup to (Drive:Path)

8. Press {YES}.
9. If the option is set to copy the files to the floppy drive,

insert a disk into the floppy drive of the FDS-CP System

Controller and press {ENTER}.

If Credit Authorization is in use, the screen will

prompt for a second disk.

10. Management Menu automatically displays.
11. Press {EXIT~TO~MANAGERS}. Manager Key Menu displays.
12. Press {EXIT~TO~RESTAURANT}.
