The system offers two different modes of operations for a

workstation regardless if it is touch screen or keyboard en-

try. The options are Restaurant or Cashier/Bar.
This option is set in the FDS System Configuration Table

(from the FDS CBase System Manager application).

The two options are Restaurant or Cashier/Bar. These op-

tions control who in the restaurant has access to open

checks and the cash drawer(s), and how checks are started.
Except for the three differences listed on the next page,

both options operate the same way.

q Cash drawers can be operated on terminals in either

mode.

q Cash drawer assignments can be used to prohibit access

as well as to allow access to a cash drawer.

Example: Assigning a server to cash drawer A on a

specific terminal prohibits that server from

tendering checks at any other workstation.

q START CHECK type keys can be used to start a check on

terminals in either mode in both Table and Check track-

ing systems.

q Applications example: The restaurant wants to prohibit

bartenders from recalling and tendering server’s checks

without first transferring them.

Program the bar terminal for Restaurant mode.

•

Attach the cash drawer cable to drawer B connector

of the workstation and assign the bartender to

drawer B.

•

Program a {START~CHECK} for the bartender’s use.
