The display unit is only suitable for use in dry, closed indoor locations.
The outside sensor can be used in protected outside areas (e.g. under a roof pro-
jection).
Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around since this may
become a dangerous toy for children.
Handle the product carefully, it can be damaged by impacts, strikes or by falling
from a low height.
Notes on batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying about openly. There is a risk that the bat-
teries can be swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burns of the skin. Therefore, use suitable
protective gloves.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fire.
There is a risk of explosion!
• Conventional batteries must not be recharged. Danger of explosion! Only charge recharge-
able batteries, which are intended for this purpose; use suitable rechargeable battery charg-
ers.
• Please observe the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting batteries/recharge-
able batteries.
• Do not mix batteries or rechargeable batteries with different levels of charge.
• Never mix batteries with rechargeable batteries! Use either batteries or rechargeable bat-
teries.
• Operation is possible with rechargeable batteries, instead of batteries. However, due to the
lower voltage (rechargeable batteries = 1.2V, batteries = 1.5V) and the lower capacity of
rechargeable batteries, the operating time is decreased.
If rechargeable batteries are used for the outside sensor, note that rechargeable batteries
are more sensitive to low temperature, this significantly reduces the operating life.

Commissioning with one outside sensor
• First insert the batteries  into the outside sensor battery compartment. Open the battery
compartment, on the back of the outside sensor, slide the cover  downwards.
Insert two „Micro/AAA“ batteries with the correct polarity (observe +/Plus and -/Minus).
Close the battery compartment again.
• Insert the batteries for the display unit within 2 minutes after starting up the outside sensor,
otherwise the outside sensor will not be recognised.
Open the battery case, on the bottom of the display unit.
Insert two „Micro/AAA“ batteries, with the correct polarity (observe +/Plus and -/Minus).
Close the battery compartment.
• After a short while, the outside temperature should appear in the lowest line of the display.
Please note:
Always insert the batteries into the outside sensor first, only after this in to the
display unit. Otherwise the outside sensor will not be recognised.
Do not place the display unit in the vicinity of the outside sensor. Keep a distance
of about 0.5 m. Otherwise the reception will suffer from interference.
If the temperature of the outside sensor is not displayed on the lowest line with-
in 2 minutes, but only dashes („- - . -“), please remove all the batteries and rein-
sert them - first into the outside sensor, then into the display unit.
Commissioning with multiple outside sensors
The display unit can be operated with up to three outside sensors. For example, you can place
one outside sensor on the exterior wall, one in the basement and one sensor in the garage.
To commission with multiple outside sensors proceed as follows:
• First, remove all batteries from all the units, the display and the sensor units.
• First, insert the batteries into the first outside sensor.
• Insert the batteries for the display unit within 30 seconds.
• After a little while, the temperature of the first outside sensor should appear on the
bottom line of the display, and the reception icon shows on the lower right of the display.
• Within 10 seconds of inserting the batteries into the display unit, the batteries for the sec-
ond outside sensor have to be inserted.
• Now, after a little while , the temperature of the second outside sensor should appear in the
bottom display line and an icon for the second channel.
• Within 10 seconds of inserting the batteries into the second outside sensor, the batteries for
the third outside sensor have to be inserted.
• Now,  after a little while, the temperature of the third outside sensor should appear in the
bottom display line and an icon for the third channel.
Please note:
Please proceed exactly as described. Do not let too much time go by between
the insertion of the batteries into the units, since the outside unit will otherwise
stop the connection attempts .
If necessary, remove the batteries from all the units and start again.
Do not place the display unit directly besides the the outside sensors. Keep a
distance of about 0.5m to each unit. Otherwise there will be interference with
reception.
General Information on battery replacement
In the event of a battery replacement, in of one of the units (outside sensor or display unit) the
basic configuration has to be redone.
Remove the batteries from all the units and proceed as described above under „Commiss-
ioning“.
This is necessary because a random security code is generated for every com-
missioning. It protects the radio transmission against interference.
Thus, the display unit would only be able to receive data from the outside sen-
sors coded and recognised when the batteries were first inserted.
A battery replacement is necessary, if the display contrast on the display unit is poor,  if no
values are indicated at all, or if an outside sensor is no longer received.
Setting the Time
• Hold the button „SET“ down for about 3 seconds, until the display format appears („12h“ or
„24h“) flashing.
• By briefly pressing the button „+“ you can switch between the 12hr and the 24hr display format.
In the 12hr display format the temperature is automatically displayed in °F
(degree Fahrenheit), in the 24hr display format it is in °C (degree Celsius).
• Confirm the setting by briefly pressing the “SET” button.
• The hours start to flash.
Set the hour by repeatedly pressing the button „+“. For a quick adjustment hold the button
for a longer period of time.
• Confirm the setting of the hours by briefly pressing the „SET” button.
• The minutes will start flashing.
Set the minutes by repeatedly pressing the button „+“. For quick adjustment, hold the but-
ton down for a longer period of time.
• Confirm the minutes setting by briefly pressing the „SET“ button.
If no button is pressed for a few seconds, the settings mode will be closed auto-
matically.
Display MIN/MAX memory
The minimum and the maximum  temperatures are stored automatically, and can be dis-
played by pressing the button „MIN/MAX“.
• Press the „MIN/MAX“button briefly once: The minimum temperature is displayed; in the low-
er display, „MIN“ will appear.
• Press „MIN/MAX“button again briefly: The maximum temperature is displayed; in the lower
display, „MAX“ will appear.
Delete MIN/MAX memory
Hold down the „MIN/MAX“ button  for about 3 seconds, all minima and maxima stored will be
deleted.
Directly after deletion, the current temperatures, next  measured, will be saved as
the new minimum or maximum.
Mounting or setting-up the outside sensors
The outside sensor can be mounted on the wall using the holder provided or you can use the
holder as a stand base.
Select an appropriate installation location. It has to be in an area, protected against direct rain
and direct sunlight. Ideally, mount the sensor underneath a roof projection.

Never operate the outside sensor in or under water; it is not water-tight!
Use the appropriate mounting material, depending on the mounting location; e.g. drill holes
and use wall plugs.

Please ensure that no cables or wires are damaged when drilling/screwing the
holder into position.
Mounting or setting-up the display unit
The unit is equipped with a retractable foot on the back for placing on a table. Place the device
on a  sufficiently large level surface.
It is also possible to mount it on a wall. A hole on the back of the display unit is for hanging it
up, e.g. on a screw or a nail.

Please, ensure again that no cables or wires are damaged.
When deciding on the placing, it may be necessary to us an appropriate pad
material on valuable furniture to avoid impressions or scratches on the surface.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance, never take it apart.
Please use a dry, clean, soft cloth for cleansing. Do not apply too much pressure on the dis-
play, it may be damaged. Further, scratch marks could appear.
Do not use any chemical cleaning agents, they can discolour the plastic housing.
Notes on the Range
Normally, when operated in, for example, a family home, fault free operation should be pos-
sible. Like any other appliance that works with radio transmissions, interferences can occur.
Please note:
•  The product works in the 868 MHz range, which is also used by other products. This is why
there may be restricted operation and range due to devices that work on the same, or a
neighbouring, frequency.
• The range for line-of-sight contact of transmitter and receiver (the so-called „free field
range“) is a maximum of 100m. It is greatly reduced in buildings (theoretically), depending
on the construction and environmental conditions.
Ferro-concrete, metal doors or the use of metal-coated heat insulation can have a negative
effect on the range. The range is shortened.
Other causes for a reduced range:
•  High frequency disturbances of all kinds (e.g. microwave ovens)
• Buildings of all types (walls etc.) and vegetation
•  Conductive metals, which are located in the vicinity of the units or within or close to the radio
route, e.g. radiators, metal insulation glass windows, reinforced concrete floors etc.
•  Influence on the antennas’ radiation pattern due to the distance of transmitter or receiver to
conductive surfaces or objects (metal tables, but also human bodies or floors)
• Broadband interferences in urban areas that reduce the signal-to-noise ratio; the signal is
not recognised because of the „noise“
• Irradiation from insufficiently shielded electronic devices, e.g. computers operated openly,
or similar.
