P2Store Manager screens (continued)
For keeping the unit's software updated.
Upgrade page
Current Status section
Displays the current mode (Normal mode or
Software upgrade mode) and the version and
checksum of the software used.
Upgrade section
You can keep the unit up to date by
downloading and installing the latest software
for it. 
Browse button
Click the [Browse] button to select the
downloaded software for the unit. 
The  “Version/Checksum” section displays the
version and checksum of the software after
updating.
Execute button
For executing the command to update the
software. 
Note that it takes several minutes to complete
this process. 
Note:
During this process, never turn the unit OFF
or unplug the USB 2.0 cable. 
This may damage the unit. 
Additionally, put the unit on a stable surface
beforehand.
Operating mode section
Sets the type of computer to be connected to
the unit.
[Windows, Mac(PowerPC)]
Set when the connected computer is a
Windows computer or a Mac OS X computer.
(Default. Normally, use in this setting.)
[Mac(Intel)-P2Card]
Set when the connected computer is an Intel-
based Mac OS X computer.
This setting only allows the connected
computer to access the unit’s P2 card.
[Mac(Intel)-HDD]
Set when the connected computer is an Intel-
based Mac OS X computer.
This setting only allows the connected
computer to access the unit’s internal HDD.
After selecting the operating mode, click the
[Apply] button 
.
Note:
• On a PowerPC-based Mac OS X computer,
this operating mode is not displayed.
• When connecting a Mac OS X computer to
the unit, always be sure to check that the
required dedicated driver is installed.
• If a P2 device that serves as a USB host is
connected, and then the unit’s operating mode
is changed after use of that device, you will
either need to restore the operating mode the
next time you connect the same P2 device or
connect the P2 device after restarting it.
Initialize button  
You can restore the default settings in sections
and 
. However, note that the
setup details are not applied automatically. 
If you change them, click the [Apply] button
.
Apply button 
You can save the setup details in sections 
,
and 
on the unit as follows. 
1. Click the [Apply] button 
A confirmation dialog is displayed. 
2. Click [Yes]
The setup details are saved on the unit.
3. Restart the unit.
Note:
The new setup takes effect after the unit is
restarted.
