YEStablet 7375 User Guide--Operation

Input Panel
Three types of virtual keyboards are available.  Ignore the Options button.
•  Keyboard.  This most closely resembles a typical PC keyboard.  It is the default setting and is typically the
most useful when in a YESterm IP emulation session.
•  LargeKB.  This is not usable in a YESterm IP emulation session.
•  Numeric.  This resembles the numeric pad of a PC keyboard.  It can be used in a YESterm IP emulation
session, but, depending upon your use, you may have to program one of the keys to execute the Enter
command.  See
 for
programming information.

These choices can also be made from the Keyboard icon in the

Network and Dialup Connections
When you open this utility, you typically will see two icons: Make New Connection and another icon specific to
the wireless LAN adapter card detected by the tablet.  You should never have to make a new connection if you are
using one of the approved adapter cards (see

Double-click on the adapter-specific icon to make network settings.
•  IP Address
o
Obtain an IP address via DHCP.  Make this selection if the IP address will be automatically assigned to
this tablet by a DHCP server.
o
Specify an IP address.  Make this selection to enter a static IP address, along with mask and gateway
information.  If you make this choice, you will also typically have to enter Name Server information in the
next tab.
•  Name Server.  If you are using a DHCP server for tablet IP addressing, that server will typically provide name
server information also, although you will not see it displayed here.  But if this information is not automatically
provided, you can enter it here.  If you use a static IP address, you will have to provide name server IP
addresses here.

PC Connection
Check the Allow connection… box to allow a USB connection with a Windows PC using ActiveSync.  Ignore the
Options button.

Power
This is an important set of properties for the 7375 user.
•  Battery.  You have to disconnect the 7375 from the power cord or the cradle in order to see the battery status.
Wait several seconds to get an accurate reading.  The Main Battery status shows the amount of power left in
the internal battery.  The Second Battery status shows the amount of power left in the auxiliary external
battery, if there is one attached.  When the batteries are in use, the second battery will be used up first; when it
is completely discharged, the 7375 should automatically switch to the main battery without disrupting
operation.
•  Schemes.  This allows you to define power schemes for both battery and external (AC) power operation.
Obviously, your battery scheme is very important in maintaining a long battery life.  User Idle and System Idle
are not implemented in the 7375, but you still must enter switch-state times in these boxes.  The three switch-
state times are consecutive; the tablet times through the User Idle switch-state time before timing down
through the System Idle switch-state time, and then finally times down through the Suspend switch-state time
before Suspending.
•  Device Status.  Some devices, such as the Cisco Aironet wireless adapter, have settings for power
consumption, and this tab shows the current settings.  Some devices show up in this window even if their power
consumptions are not adjustable.
