How To Replace the Power Supply
Determining the Status of the Current Power Supplies By Using Telnet
Use telnet to determine the status of the current power supplies, by doing the following:
Step 1
Access the CLI.
Step 2
Log in as an administrator. The tech$ prompt appears.
Step 3
At the tech$ prompt, enter hwconfig.
Step 4
Scroll down to the “Power Supplies” entry and check the status. If this status says anything other than
“OK,” there is a problem.
Determining the Status of the Current Power Supplies By Scanning the LEDs
Scan the LEDs on the front panel at the bottom of the power supply assembly to determine the current
status. The LEDs indicate whether the power supply or fan is out of service. You must replace the entire
assembly when either the power supply or the fan is out of service.

Warning
Do not touch any of the exposed leads, terminals, or components. Hazardous voltages, capable of
causing death, may be present in this product.
Caution
If all three power supplies fail concurrently, power down your Cisco MeetingPlace 8112 and unplug the
power cable from the power outlet before proceeding.
Step 1
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two captive screws that secure the power supply to the chassis.
These screws are located on the bottom of the power supply.
Step 2
Use the handle on the top of the power supply to slide the power supply out of the chassis.
Note
When you remove the power supply from the chassis, be sure to support the bottom of the power supply.
Lift the power supply so that the back will clear the lip of the chassis.
