Chapter 10 WebConnect
Scheduling Meetings in a DMZ Environment
In a DMZ environment, some meetings will be available to users
on the external server and some on the internal server.
Meetings scheduled on internal servers will remain on internal
servers through the rolling process. Meetings that are intended to
be available on the external server should roll to external servers.
If you have a DMZ environment, the meeting will continue to
have the expected security level and be available to the expected
users with the following restrictions:
One external web site must be placed in the DMZ zone for
every site.
Public meetings may only be scheduled on sites that have a
web site residing in the DMZ.
To provide Internet users access to public meetings, the
meeting scheduler must be using a profile that can schedule
meetings on these external web sites. Additionally, these
external web sites must exist on all sites within the meeting
scheduler’s rollover map(s).
Finding Meetings
Meetings are searchable through the Find Meeting button on the
MeetingPlace Web home page. Clicking this button reveals a list
of all public meetings, regardless of which site they are scheduled
on.
Users may also specify which site they would like to search,
revealing a list of all public meetings scheduled on that particular
site.
Attending Meetings
When meetings are scheduled via a site rollover, MeetingPlace
sends an e-mail notification to the scheduler confirming that their
meeting has been scheduled. This notification is sent from the
