About Tunneling
When a firewall prevents MeetingPlace WebShare from
communicating with the web conference server over TCP port
1627, it tunnels messages over TCP port 80 (standard HTTP
port). This servlet then transmits these messages to the
MeetingPlace WebShare gateway over TCP port 1627. This
process enables MeetingPlace WebShare to bypass firewall
restrictions so external users can participate in a web conference.
