Chapter 5  Installing MeetingPlace Web 

The following section includes instructions for each type of 
installation, including:

Basic Installation — Installs MeetingPlace Web without 

the Audio Service component.

Full Installation — Installs MeetingPlace Web with the 

Audio Service component. 

Audio Conversion Installation — Installs the audio 

service and the Gateway SIM components onto a 
Windows server with or without an existing 
MeetingPlace Web installation. The Audio Service 
enables MeetingPlace Web to automatically convert 
audio files into .ra/.rm, .wma, .wav and/or .mp3 formats. 

To convert audio files into .rm, .wma, or .mp3 formats, 

you will need to supply the appropriate third-party 
software. Refer to page 41 for details. 

Internal and External MeetingPlace Web Server 

Installation Options — Installs MeetingPlace Web on an 
internal server or on a server deployed in a publicly 
accessible network, such as in a DMZ. You may also 
select to provide both types of access on the same 
Windows server.

Note: If you are deploying MeetingPlace Web audio services on 
multiple Windows servers (a maximum of three), run the “Audio 
Conversion Installation Only” portion of the MeetingPlace Web 
installation. 

Note: Ensure that your installation drive has at least several 
gigabytes of space to allow for storage of applications, 
attachments, recordings, and meeting/profile database 
information, which will increase over time.
