eNfusion™ HSD-400 High-speed Data Terminal
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The HSD-400 terminal is a scalable, high-speed data, satellite communications terminal. It
interfaces with an ARINC 741 compatible antenna subsystem to provide a high-speed data
communication link with the Inmarsat satellite network.
This section includes basic information about the HSD-400 terminal, including the following
sections:
1.
Equipment Overview
The HSD-400 terminal is a scalable, high-speed data, satellite communications terminal that
interfaces with ARINC 741 and ARINC 781-compatible antenna subsystems to communicate
with the space segment of the Inmarsat Satellite Network via L-band RF signals.
HSD-400 terminals support the following services:
Inmarsat Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Single Channel Per Carrier (SCPC)
Service
Inmarsat Serial Mobile Packet Data Services (MPDS)
AMBE® Voice Technology
SwiftBroadband (SBB) Service
The HSD-400 terminal contains two channel cards, a high stability reference oscillator, a high
power amplifier, a data processor module, and a power supply. The HSD-400 terminal receives
power from the aircraft as either 28 V dc or 115 V ac, 400 Hz.
The HSD-400 terminal supports two channels of Inmarsat Swift64 MPDS or four channels of
Mobile ISDN 64 kbps data links. The HSD-400 terminal supports one SBB channel on each
channel card, for a total of two SBB channels—the limit of SBB channels available to any
aircraft set by Inmarsat.
