4 Operating principle
How does Swim Alert™ work?
Swim Alert™ detects and analyzes disturbances in your pool. It was designed to detect the fall of a child
weighing 18 lbs or more in the conditions specified below. It warns of the fall by setting off a loud siren.
For your safety and comfort, it has three main operating modes:

RMED
MODE
:
o
Swim Alert™ monitors the pool, its green indicator light is flashing.
o
The siren will go off if a person weighing 18 lbs or more falls into the pool.

ISARMED
MODE
:
o
You must activate this mode before using the pool to avoid setting off the siren.
o
Swim Alert™ is not monitoring the pool, the red indicator light is flashing.
o
No accidental fall will be detected.
o
Warning: the device remains in DISARMED mode for about 10 minutes after the swimmers have left the
pool. It automatically switches to ARMED mode once the pool is still.

In case of strong wind, the device can no longer monitor the pool and will automatically switch to
DISARMED mode.

You can activate this mode to replace the batteries or perform maintenance operations on the pool.

Swim Alert™ is not monitoring the pool. All indicator lights are off.
o
No accidental fall will be detected.
o
There is no automatic restart.
In order to minimize your response time, Swim Alert™ has a remote siren controlled by a radio link, which is to
be installed as close as possible to your living quarters. It will also set off the siren in case of a fall into your pool
(see §6)
