14. Checking the Control Functions
Before starting your model for the first time, you need to familiarise yourself with the control functions and test the
model functions.
Switch on the transmitter first and connect the flight battery to the model.
Neutral Position:
When the control lever for the rudder and elevator function, as well as the aileron, and the digital trimming of the two
control functions precisely in the centre position, the rudder (1), the elevator (2) and the ailerons should be precisely at
the centre as well. Viewed from the rear, the rudders and elevators must form a level with the rudder and must not be
deflected to the top or bottom, left or right. The ailerons must be at one level with the wings.
Figure 9
If the ailerons, rudders and elevators are not aligned precisely, the bend in the linkage wide may be used to correctly
align the rudder (1). The bend can be compressed or expanded as required. Use small long-nose pliers or tweezers
and work with the required dexterity.
For ailerons, the lower rudders must be put in the neutral position first with the transmitter’s trimming. Then the upper
ailerons must be adjusted by bending the linkage wires.
Figure 10, item 2 shows the linkage wire connected at the outside of the rudder horn in the factory setting at
the example of the rudder linkage. Experienced pilots who would like to increase deflection at the rudder or
elevator may use long-nosed pliers and carefully attach the linkage rod on the inside (see arrow).
