e) Setting function “WHITE BAL”
The camera provides various options as to how the white balance is achieved. Thereby, it can be
individually adjusted to the most widely varied light ratios and ambient conditions.
As a rule, it suffi ces to select the automatic white balance (setting “ATW”), and there the only set-
ting is where the camera is mounted (“OUTDOOR” = outside, “INDOOR” = inside).
However, if necessary, it can be set by a specialist for special applications.
Many white balance functions have further submenus that are displayed when you press the but-
ton.
“ATW”
Automatic white balance (default): Sunlight, incandescent lights, fl uorescent
lights, etc. have various colour temperatures. The automatic white balance
ensures that white objects are correctly displayed on the connected monitor.

“SPEED”: Speed for the white balance

“DELAY CNT”: Delay value for the white balance

„ATW FRAME“: Colour temperature range for white balance; the smaller the
value, the smaller the colour temperature range

„ENVIRONMENT“: depending on where the camera is installed, select
„OUTDOOR“ for outdoors or „INDOOR“ for indoors
“MANUAL”
„LEVEL“:
Simultaneous change of the colour levels for blue and red in rela-
tion to green
“ANTI CR”
Automatic white balance, but with limited colour temperature range (this set-
ting should be selected if wandering colour bars appear in the image)
“USER1”, “USER2”  “B-GAIN”: Colour matching for blue

“R-GAIN”: Colour matching for red

Green is automatically adjusted depending on blue and red, so no manual
adjustment is required here.
“PUSH”
Does not apply to this camera model.
“PUSH LOCK”
White balance on the basis of a reference object; direct the camera toward a
white object so that the camera image is completely fi lled by it. Then press
the button; that carries out the white adjustment and stores it in the camera.
