5)  DOWN :  Key to display the next Caller ID entry 
6)  DEL :  Key to delete the Caller ID entries (one or all) 
7)  DIAL:  Key to dial the selected Caller ID entry. Also used during 
telephone setup for options programming 
8)  STORE:  Key to store numbers into speed dial memory keys M1 
and M2 
9)  FLASH:  Key to generate a flash at the programmed flash time 
(600ms , 300ms or 100ms) 
10) R/P:  Redial/Pause key, used to redial last number dialed, or a 2.2 
seconds pause 
11) SPKR: Key to set the hands-free speakerphone function on or off   
12) RING:  Switch (on rear) to set ringer volume high or low  
13) VOLUME:  Switch (on rear) to adjust speakerphone volume high 
or low. 
Operating instructions  
 
Telephone Options Setup: 
The user options should be set on the 2860C prior to placing it into 
service. The following options are user-programmable on the 2860C: 
•  Language (English, Spanish, or French) 
•  Local area code (3 digits) 
•  Real time clock time and date (hour, minute, month, and day) 
•  Flash time (600ms, 300ms, or 100ms) 
•  LCD contrast level (1-8) 
 
 
To set user options on the 2860C:  
1)  Verify that the telephone is “on-hook” and that it is in standby 
mode (TOTAL and NEW call counts are displayed on the LCD). 
2)  Press and hold the DIAL key for at least 3 seconds, until 
“OPTIONS MENU ▼▲” appears on the LCD display. Release the 
DIAL key. 
3)  Within three seconds, press the UP or DOWN key to select the 
option to be set: “SET LANGUAGE”, “LOCAL AREA CODE”, 
“SET TIME/DATE”, “SET FLASH TIME”, or “(LCD) 
CONTRAST”, then press the DIAL key to confirm. 
4) Press the UP or DOWN key to set the option to the desired value, 
then press the DIAL key to confirm. 
5)  After setting all options as desired, select “EXIT OPTION” or 
“OPTIONS MENU ▼▲”, then press the DIAL key to return to 
standby mode. 
 
Placing a call: 
1)  Lift the handset or press SPKR button and listen for a dial tone. 
2)  Dial the desired telephone number using the keypad. The dialed 
digits will be displayed on the LCD as the number is dialed. 
3)  The call length timer will begin counting after 15 seconds. 
4)  To end a call, place the handset on the telephone base unit, or if 
using the hands-free speakerphone, press the SPKR key. The call 
time length will remain on the display for 5 seconds, and then the 
display will revert to the standby display mode.
