Configuring a Cisco IP Communicator 
Phone
From the Cisco CallManager Administration web-based application, follow these 
steps to configure a Cisco IP Communicator soft phone.
1. On the Device menu, choose Add a New Device.
The Add a New Device window appears.
2. In the Device Type field, choose Phone, and then click Next.
The Add a New Phone window appears.
3. From the Phone Type drop-down list, choose Cisco IP Communicator, and 
then click Next.
The Phone Configuration window appears.
4. Complete the fields in the Phone Configuration window, and then click 
Insert.
In the MAC Address field, enter the MAC address of the computer on which 
the Cisco IP Communicator phone is installed.
The Cisco IP Communicator phone is inserted into the CallManager 
database.
NOTE:  A Cisco IP Communicator phone registers with the CallManager only 
when Agent Desktop is running on the agent PC.
