How to configure Active Directory sites on the new Domain Controller
Transfer any applicable flexible single master operations (FSMO) roles and redefine the time
source.

Set the new Domain Controller as the Global Catalog (if required).

Point all member servers to the new DNS servers.

How to install Active Directory on the new Domain Controller
Note: Release 9.0(1) supports Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory controllers. Steps in
this document for configuring Active Directory relate to Windows Server 2008 R2. Consult the
Microsoft documentation for Windows Server 2008 for details on Windows Server 2008 Domain
Controller configuration.
Step 1
Select Start > Run enter 
dcpromo
 and click OK.
Step 2
When the Active Directory Wizard opens, click Next.
Step 3
Under Domain Controller Type, select Additional Domain Controller for an Existing Domain.
Step 4
On the Network Credentials screen, enter the domain admin username and password.
Step 5
The Additional Domain Controller screen should already be filled in with the FQDN (Fully
Qualified Domain Name).
