Cayman 3220-H User’s Guide

Using the Command Line Interface

option (off) [on | off]: 

You can accept the default value for a field by pressing the Return 
key. To use a different value, enter it and press Return.

You can enter the CONFIG step mode by entering 

set

 from the top 

node of the CONFIG hierarchy. You can enter step mode for a 
particular service by entering 

set service_name

. For example:

Dogzilla (top)>> 

Stepping set mode (press Control-X <Return/Enter> to 

exit)

...

system

   name (“Dogzilla”): 

   Diagnostic Level (High): 

Stepping mode ended.

You can use the validate CONFIG command to make sure that your 
configuration settings have been entered correctly. If you use the 

validate

 command, the Cayman 3220-H verifies that all required 

settings for all services are present and that settings are consistent.

Error: Subnet mask is incorrect

Global Validation did not pass inspection!

You can use the 

validate

 command to verify your configuration 

settings at any time. Your Cayman 3220-H automatically validates 
your configuration any time you save a modified configuration.
