This release includes Microsoft patches in WinCE OS, upgrading it to 4.2.0.2.

This release includes improvements to the library manufacturing process.

Problem: When using two or more LTO-4 or LTO-3 drives in the library, selecting 
Metrics from the General toolbar does not display the Metrics screen when connected 
to the library using the RLC with Drive Performance Monitoring and SSL enabled. 

Workaround: Disable drive performance monitoring, as described in Disabling Metrics 
Monitoring on page 49.

This release resolves issues with QIPs; the update includes the following changes. 

ƒ Firmware includes updated QIP messages that are sent to the LCM. 
ƒ Encrypted tapes written by G5 QIPs are now correctly recognized when read 

through G3 QIPs. 

ƒ The updated firmware includes additional verification of QIP inventory after moves 

using queued ejects. 

ƒ The updated firmware permits the QIP to report connection information (i.e., 

4Gb/s) properly. 

Important

BlueScale10.2.0 was withdrawn due to an issue that could 
potentially lead to a loss of library configuration. This 
problem has been resolved in BlueScale10.4.0.

If you installed BlueScale10.2.0 in your library, Spectra Logic 
recommends immediately updating your library to 
BlueScale10.4.0-20080903F or later. Contact SpectraGuard
