For examp le, selectin g External device typ e RS-232 GPS : 

 

Select  1  in   the 

Com  menu   (or  set  the  number   of  the  COM   p ort 

number the GPS is connected to) and the other p arameters accordin g 
to the GPS characteristics; 

 

Use  the 

Refresh  rate  field  in  Fig.   C.  3  to  select  the  numb er  of  

sweep s  interval  the  GPS  data will  be  acquir ed  with;  for  examp le,  if 
y ou  have  set  the 

Acquisition S tep to  2.4cm  and  the  Refresh rate 

field  to  20,  the  sy stem  will  acquire  GPS  data  every   48cm  (2.4cm 
*20=48cm);  if  the 

Refresh  rate  =  1,  the  SRS_PLUS  sy stem  will 

uptake  all  the  information  p roduced  by   the  GPS  accordin g  to  the 
time p arameters set on GPS equip ment. 

S tep 5 Accep t the p arameters set in the COM settings field by  click in g the OK 

button, as shown Fig. C. 5. 

S tep  6  Correct  functioning  of  the  GPS  and  its  communication  with  the 

SRS_PLU S  sy stem  is  indicated  by   the  GPS

  spy   light  in  the  acquisition  

window;  when  the  light  is  green,  the  GPS  is  corr ectly   connected  and  
functioning;  when  the  GPS  is  red,  either  the  connection  between  the  GPS 
and  SRS_PLU S  sy stems  has  not  been  correctly   made  or  the  GPS  is 
switched off (see p icture Fig. C. 6).
