Laser Link Mini-Mainframe Electrical Connections
Overview
The Laser Link Mini-Mainframe requires electrical connections to the power supply
and the power distribution board.
Power Supply Connections
CAUTION:
Use extreme caution and maintain proper polarity when connecting the supply
voltage to the mainframe. Improper polarity will cause an internal fuse failure.
Failure to adhere to this caution will result in equipment damage.
Connect the power supplies as described below.
IF the primary input… THEN…
is an AC power source
connect the power cord to the mainframe and power
source.
is a -48 V DC power
source
apply -48 V DC potential using the supplied connector
pins (noting polarity). Use the PEM stud to ground the
Mini-Mainframe to the equipment rack. See Rear Panel
Drawing below for a connection example.

The following illustration shows the correct connections for -48 V DC power.
Important: Facing the back of the unit (as shown), the connector pin on the left is
positive, as marked. The connector pin on the right is negative, as marked.
