About arpeggiator synchroniza-
tion
The note timing of the arpeggiator will depend on the
setting of its “Key Sync.” check box.
If this is checked, the arpeggiator will begin operating
at the moment that you play the first note-on after hav-
ing released all notes on the connected MIDI instru-
ment.
If this is unchecked, the arpeggiator will synchronize
to the timing of the internal/external MIDI clock.
The following paragraphs explain how synchroniza-
tion occurs when the “Key Sync.” check box is
unchecked. (Synchronization for Pattern Start and
MIDI realtime command “Start” is an exception to
this.)
Synchronizing arpeggiators A and B
In Combination, or Multi modes, the two arpeggiators
can be operated simultaneously.
At this time if one arpeggiator is running and the other
arpeggiator (whose “Key Sync.” is not checked) is
started, the second arpeggiator will synchronize to the
(Tempo) ” based on the timing of the first arpeggia-
tor.
If “Key Sync.” is checked, arpeggiators A and B
will operate with independent timing.
Synchronization with pattern play-
back in Multi mode, synchronization
with RPPR pattern playback in Multi
mode
Synchronization with pattern playback
• If you start pattern playback while the arpeggiator
is running, the arpeggiator will be reset to the
beginning of the arpeggio pattern. (This is not
affected by the “Key Sync.” setting.)
• If “Key Sync.” is not checked for pattern recording,
you can turn on the [ARP ON/OFF] key and play
the keyboard of a connected MIDI instrument
during the recording pre-count so that the arpeggio
pattern will start from the beginning at the instant
that recording begins, and will be recorded.
Synchronization with RPPR pattern playback
• If you trigger the arpeggiator while a pattern is
playing, the arpeggiator will synchronize to the
beat of the pattern playback.
• If you want pattern playback to synchronize to the
already-running arpeggiator, set “Sync” (MULTI
5.1: RPPR, RPPR Setup page) to ARP (SEQ).
Pattern playback will synchronize to the
 (Tempo)” timing of the arpeggiator.
Synchronization with an external
sequencer in Program, Combination,
or Multi mode
When “
(Tempo) ” is set to EXT (GLOBAL 2.1: MIDI,
“MIDI Clock”), the arpeggiator will synchronize to
MIDI Clock or Start messages etc. received from an
external MIDI sequencer etc. connected via a MIDI
cable.
Synchronization with external MIDI clock
• The arpeggiator will synchronize to the
(Tempo)” based on the timing of the external
MIDI clock.
Synchronization to the MIDI realtime command
“Start”
• If the MIDI realtime command “Start” is received
while the arpeggiator is running, the arpeggiator
will be reset to the beginning of the arpeggio
pattern. (This is not affected by the “Key Sync.”
setting.)
