The following information should be provided to patients who are implanted with Neo Legacy.
Neo Legacy is designed to supplement, not replace other therapy measures such as medications, diet, exercise,
and lifestyle modification.
Implantation requires the patient to carry an identification card to provide information to security personnel at
public institutions with metallic screening security systems.
The IPG requires periodic replacement due to depletion of the unit’s batteries.
Implantation requires the patient to return for regular follow-ups to check the operation of the system and
response to therapy.
Patients should contact their physician if they have any of the following symptoms.

They experience symptoms that may be related to the therapy. Symptoms include unusual
stimulation of tissue near the lead electrode tips; slight tingling or twitching of neck muscles;
difficulty in talking or swallowing.

They experience increased symptoms of dizziness, feeling faint, light-headedness, chest pain,
increasing shortness of breath, or edema.

Their systolic pressure falls below 90 mmHg and/or their diastolic pressure falls below 50 mmHg.

Their heart rate falls below 50 BPM.
Warning: Certain medical procedures such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), diathermy therapy including
shortwave, microwave, or therapeutic ultrasound diathermy are contraindicated following the implantation.
