While 
receiving

Paper out

An error massage will appear on the display if 
the machine has run out of the paper while 
receiving a document. Load paper.

Paper jam

If paper jam occurs, an error code is displayed. 
Remove the jammed paper.

Paper does not feed.

Check if the Paper Tray is loaded with paper. 
Load paper as directed by relevant instructions.

Paper is not exited at the end of 
a print job.

Check if the paper has jammed in the machine.

The Automatic Print Reduction 
feature does not work.

Check the setting of the Function Parameter “24

Parameters).

No dial tone heard

• Check the telephone line connection.
• Check the telephone line.

The machine does not receive 
automatically.

• Check the telephone line connection.
• Check the receive mode settings.
• If the Function Parameter “13 Auto Print 

JRNL” (Fax/Email Settings > Fax Parameters) 
is set to “Valid”, and the machine is printing 
the received document(s) from memory, which 
also happens to be the 200th transaction, the 
machine will not answer automatically until the 
Transaction Journal completes printing.

Cannot send or receive.

An error code appears on the display. See the 
error code table and identify the problem.

Turn OFF the machine momentarily, and then 
turn it ON again.
