Setting the date and time
Set the date and time so that the correct date and time can be assigned to incoming calls, and 
so that the alarm clock can be used.

Display in idle status
Once the phone is registered and the time set, the idle status is shown as in this example. If the 
answering machine is switched on (A400A), the answering machine icon

 will be displayed 
in the header. Your answering machine is set with a pre-recorded announcement.

Activating/deactivating the handset
Press and hold the end call key

 to activate or deactivate the handset. 
If you place a deactivated handset in the base or charging cradle, it will automatically be acti-
vated after a specific period of time (approx. 30 seconds).
Your phone is now ready for use!

When entering the time and date, you can move the position of an entry to the left or right 
by pressing left or right on the control button.
