If for some reason, you want to reset your system back to a particular
state, you can set this parameter to Yes.
8.

Set the destination for error information. If you are importing a large
number of records, you should enter a file name to log the error to.
9.

Set the error threshold. This value specifies the number of errors that
MeetingTime will allow before aborting the import process. You should
not set this number too high because large numbers of errors may be an
indication there is a problem with the import file itself.
A status dialog box reports any error conditions that occur during the import
process.
Automating the Import Process

If you do not have MeetingPlace Directory Services installed, you can
simplify the process of maintaining your MeetingPlace database by writing a
script that will use the Windows Batch Mode described below. The goal of
automating the import process is to deactivate employees who have left your
company and to add new employees. If done on an automated basis, you can
publish the MeetingPlace login schema through your intranet and greatly
reduce your involvement in database management.
When writing a script to automate the import process, the high level steps to
follow are:
1.

Export your source database (NT, Human Resources, etc.) to a LAN
drive.
2.

Compare the database to your last export.
3.

Create two files (one for additions and one for deactivations).
4.

Put the files into the proper import format. See page 46 for more
information.
5.

Run the two imports into MeetingPlace (one to deactivate users and one
to add new users).
This can be a substantial project. Therefore it is only discussed at a
conceptual level here. For more assistance, please contact your MeetingPlace
support representative. Writing this script is the customer’s responsibility or
can be quoted as a customization services engagement.
Importing and Deleting Profiles in Windows Batch Mode
Importing or deleting profiles in batch mode allows you to perform the
process overnight and avoid tying up your machine (importing takes about
one second per profile). You can perform all the import operations in batch
mode using command line options.
