Cisco Cisco ONS 15454 M2 Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP)

Complete the “NTP-G143 Import the Cisco Transport Planner NE Update Configuration File” task in the chapter “Turn
Up a Node” of the Cisco ONS 15454 DWDM Network Configuration Guide to re-import the updated configuration file. If
the updated configuration file is not available, complete the “DLP-G681 Modify an ANS Parameter” task in the chapter
“Turn Up a Node” of the Cisco ONS 15454 DWDM Network Configuration Guide to manually edit the ANS parameters.

Complete the “NTP-G37 Run Automatic Node Setup” task in the chapter “Turn Up a Node” of the Cisco ONS 15454
DWDM Network Configuration Guide.

Verify if the modified ANS parameters were applied. Perform the following steps:

a) In node view (single-shelf mode) or multishelf view (multishelf mode), click the Provisioning > WDM-ANS >

Provisioning tabs.

b) Verify if the Result column displays the value Success – Changed. This indicates that the ANS parameter has been

successfully changed with the ports in IS.

c) Verify if the Set By column displays either of the following values:

• ANS—This indicates that the new value for the ANS parameters is applied immediately.

• APC—This indicates that the new value for the ANS parameters is increased or decreased by 0.5 dB until the

new power setpoint is reached.

This procedure adds a rack, passive shelf, passive unit, or
subtending shelf to a multishelf node.
