Stopping the BFS Server Processes
For the system to recognize the changes you just made on the Inband Data PAT
window, you need to stop and restart the BFS Server processes of the DNCS, using
the dncsControl utility. Follow these instructions to stop the BFS Server processes.
Note: Stopping and restarting a process is sometimes referred to as “bouncing” the

1.
From an xterm window on the DNCS, type dncsControl and then press
Enter.
Result: The Dncs Control window opens.

Type 2 (for Startup / Shutdown Single Element Group) and then press
Enter.
Result: The Dncs Control window updates to list all of the DNCS

Type the number associated with the BFS Server element group and then
press Enter.
Result: A message appears that prompts the user to enter the target status
