8. Inserting Batteries, Initial Operation
• Open the battery compartment (14) on the underside of the Radio Projection Clock.
• Insert two AA batteries (mignon) into the battery compartment paying attention to the correct
polarity (pay attention to plus and minus!).
All display elements appear briefly and a signal tone can be heard. Then the room
temperature will be displayed in the top line of the display with "0:00:00" below and a blinking
radio tower symbol next to it on the right. The latter indicates that the radio projection clock
is searching for the DCF signal.
• Close the battery compartment.
The plug-in power supply provided only supplies power to the projector and
background lighting when the device is set to continually project the time.
The internal clock and the LC display work exclusively on battery power and
not via the plug-in power supply.
Thus the batteries should be inserted at all times.
• Select a sufficiently large, smooth, clean and stable surface for positioning the radio
projection clock.
• It can take between 3 and 5 minutes until the DCF time is received correctly and displayed.
If the signal is correct, the symbol "
" will be displayed (not flashing).
Do not place the radio projection clock close to electric or electronic devices
(for example television sets, computers, power cables, etc.) or metal parts
(metal windows, doors, heating elements). Otherwise, the reception will be
interfered with. Do not move the radio projection clock, because moving the
device can also have a negative impact on the signal reception.
If no reception is possible, the radio tower symbol will no longer be shown.
Change the position of the device and start a new attempt to receive a DCF
signal (hold the "WAVE" button down until the radio tower symbol appears in
the display or simply remove the batteries for a short period of time and reinsert
them).
You can also set the time and then the date manually.
• It will be necessary to replace the batteries if the contrast of the LC display becomes weaker,
if the display disappears when the lighting is activated, or if there is no longer anything visible
in the display.
