b) Insert Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries for Receiver
Open the receiver box by pulling out the two safety clips (see
arrows in the figure on the right) and folding open the lid back-
wards.
In the receiver box, there is a battery/rechargeable battery hol-
der for 4 AA/mignon type batteries/rechargeable batteries.
After insertion of the batteries or rechargeable batteries, insert the
battery/rechargeable battery holder into the receiver box again.
Wrap the receiver, e.g. in a little foam to protect it from vibration.
If the aerial cable is still coiled up, guide it outward and through
the aerial tube. Plug the aerial tube into the holder at the side of
the receiver box.
For best range, the aerial cable must protrude from the vehicle
vertically. Never shorten the aerial cable! Never coil the aerial
cable! This greatly reduces the range.
Close the receiver box again and insert the safety clips removed
at first.
c) Inserting Glow Plug
The manufacturer may already have inserted the glow plug in the cylinder head. In this case, check if it is screwed on
correctly. If the glow plug is enclosed separately from the motor, it must be screwed into the opening of the cylinder
head with a suitable glow plug key. Do not use any force for this.
Glow plugs wear, especially during the breaking-in stage. If tinder has formed on the glow coil, there may be problems
with starting or operation.
Therefore, we recommend that you always keep some glow plugs at hand for replacement. There are glow plugs with
different heat values.
Use glow plugs for RC cars only! A wrong glow plug, e.g. for a 4-cycle plane engine, will cause the engine to run
incorrectly and impairs reconciliation.
Generally, the following rule applies: The higher the nitromethane share in the fuel, the „colder“ the glow plug should
be. This also applies the higher the ambience temperature when driving.
A „hot“ plug must be used at low nitromethane ratios (e.g. for breaking in the motor) or low outdoor temperatures.
