Adding SMEs to a Contact List

You can add any user as an SME to a contact list in Desktop Presence Administrator, 
as long as the user satisfies one of the following criteria.

■

The user is managed by the Unified Presence LDAP server.

■

The user has been added to Desktop Presence Administrator manually as an 
external contact.

Desktop Presence Administrator retrieves users from the Unified Presence LDAP 
server. Because the LDAP server can manage a large number of users, Desktop 
Presence Administrator might not display all of the users it retrieves. You must search 
for the particular users you want to add as SMEs to contact lists. If there are more 
users retrieved than can be displayed, Desktop Presence Administrator will only 
display the first 500 users. 

NOTE:  If you want to provide access to users in an external 
environment who are not managed by the Unified Presence LDAP 
server, you can add them manually as external contacts. For 
instructions, see 

1. Choose Cisco Unified Presence Settings > Contact Lists. The Contact Lists 

page appears (

2. Select a contact list by clicking its name. The page for that specific contact list 

appears. If the contact list you selected does not include any SMEs, the 
Subject Matter Expert List will be empty (

).

NOTE:  The search condition is initially set to Included = True.
