Pattern and RPPR settings
5.1: RPPR
Here you can record and play user patterns, and make
RPPR settings. Refer to the subsequent sections
“Recording a pattern,” “Editing,” and “RPPR (Real-
time Pattern Play/Recording) function.”
If you wish to keep the user patterns and RPPR
settings, you must save them on external media
such as a floppy disk. This data cannot be written
to a template multi.
Arpeggiator settings
6.1: Arp.
Bus settings
7.1: BUS
Specifies the routing for each timbre (i.e., how it is sent
to the insert effects, master effects, and individual out-
puts). (☞p.96)
Insert effect settings
7.2: InsertFX
Selects insert effects and make settings for them.
(☞p.95, p.97)
Master effect settings
7.3: MasterFX
Selects master effects and make settings for them. You
can also make master EQ settings. (☞p.97)
Recording on a pattern
Your performance on the keyboard of a connected
MIDI instrument and/or the controllers of the TRI-
TON-Rack can be recorded as pattern data.
There are two ways to record on a pattern: realtime
recording
and step recording. Realtime recording a
method of recording in which your playing on the key-
board and your operations of controllers such as the
REALTIME CONTROLS are recorded in realtime.
Step recording a method of recording where you spec-
ify the note timing, note length, and velocity etc. in the
LCD screen, and use the keyboard to input the pitches.
Only note-on/off data can be recorded with this
method.
In addition, you can use event edit operations to mod-
ify data that has been recorded or to insert data. Event
editing allows you to edit the recorded data, or add to
it. In addition to note data, you can also insert data
such as control changes.
Realtime recording to a pattern
Before you begin recording a pattern, turn off the
protect setting in Global mode (☞p.37).
When realtime-recording a pattern, a pattern of the
specified number of measures will playback repeat-
edly, allowing you to continue adding musical data to
it.
Track settings
Select the MULTI 5.1 RPPR, Pattern page.
Use “Control Track” to select a track.
The pattern will sound using the program and set-
tings of the selected track.
If you will be recording a performance from a
MIDI-connected keyboard, set the MIDI channel
transmitted from the keyboard so that it matches
the “Control Track” MIDI channel.
You can verify the MIDI channel of the track by
checking the “MIDI Channel” parameter in 3.1:
Param1, MIDI.
Select the pattern to record
Set “Pattern Bank” to User, and use “Pattern
Select” to select a user pattern number U00–U99.
