Universal Cellular Communicator
Firmware update
To update the firmware it is necessary to enter in the system with the prerogatives / password of the Level 4 Installer.
The communicator, in this page, manages the Firmware upgrade both local than remote (via Cellular Data Network).
The communicator will be able to work while Firmware update is in progress
The device Firmware upgrade will be stored in the flash memory on the board.
The device will have the ability to be locally upgraded via the PC-Link connector or USB on the board and after rebooting the up-
grade will performed.
Click on “Select Firmware file” to select the file to imported.
If the firmware downloaded is incorrect, the communicator starts with the resident FW version.
If the Firmware upgrade fails, the communicator will flash slowly the ACT LED.
The communicator will search the higher FW version; if the current version of FW in the communicator is different than the
present version in file name (major, minor and test release), the .bin file will be used, otherwise the operation will be aborted.
The communicator will read the file that has the following format: eprogidx.bin where eprog is the prefix that identifies the file
programming, idx is the index of the file in a range from 001 to 999 and e.bin is the file extension.

GSM network manager, the GSM signal strength (this is displayed through a special indicator).
The device status indicator may be ON or OFF.The Device status indicator light when it is GREEN: proper function. When it is RED,
this indicates that there is no communication between the software and the device; if it is ORANGE it means that there is a com-
