This section outlines the basic operating requirements for Vehicles equipped with an initialized Vehicle Monitor.  
The Vehicle Interface’s LCD display and piezoelectric buzzer provide visual and audible cues about the Vehicle’s 
operation.  The diagram below illustrates the different Vehicle states and the events that cause transitions between

Maintenance Lockout is one of eight possible Vehicle states.  A Vehicle’s Maintenance Lockout behavior is 
defined on the Settings tab of the Authorization Group of the Vehicle; that is, are the Lift Interrupt and 
Secondary Alarm fields checked for Maintenance Lockout, and are the blue and purple wires correctly 
hooked up?
